University of Exeter Business School achieves Level 4 in Positive Impact Rating

The University of Exeter Business School has been recognised for its societal impact and commitment to sustainability as part of the sixth edition of the Positive Impact Rating (PIR), launched today at the PIR Global Summit 2025.
Exeter’s Business School is one of the 86 business schools from 30 countries participating in this year’s edition, which saw a record engagement of 17,167 student responses, a 13% increase from the previous year.
The school achieved Level 4, making it a “transforming” institution within the PIR framework.
It has also been acknowledged during the UN PRME Global Forum.
The PIR is a unique rating created by students, for students. It was designed to capture how participants perceive their schools’ positive impact on the world.
Participants evaluated how The University of Exeter Business School addresses societal and sustainability challenges and how well it prepares its students to become responsible leaders.
By participating in PIR 2025, The University of Exeter Business School demonstrates its commitment to transparency and to listening to the voice of its key stakeholders.
Professor Steve Wood, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean, said: “At the University of Exeter Business School, our core values – environmental sustainability, responsible leadership, and technological transformation – shape everything we do.
“I’m therefore thrilled that we’ve received this Positive Impact Rating, as it affirms that while we prepare the leaders of the future, we are also living by the principles we promote.”
