This collaboration will establish a branch campus in Egypt, marking the first Russell Group university to set up such an educational partnership in Africa. The initiative is designed to enhance academic collaboration, expand access to world-class education, and address critical global challenges.

The new Exeter campus, to be located at Ain Shams University International Campus, will offer globally accredited undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs from the University of Exeter. Exeter and Ain Shams will also launch dual degree offerings, and interdisciplinary courses tailored to meet the growing demands of students in Egypt and internationally. Bridging academic excellence and practical application, the partnership will prepare students for industry-ready employment and help fill skills gaps in key sectors.

A New Era of Collaboration

The partnership between Exeter and Ain Shams University will go beyond education, fostering interdisciplinary research collaborations and industry engagement. In addition, the collaboration will offer the opportunity for staff training, professional development, and exchange programs. Enhanced study abroad, including exchange programs and internships, will further enrich learning experiences while fostering cross-cultural partnership between the UK and Egypt. British Council facilitated this pioneering partnership as part of its Higher Education Transnational Education (TNE) programme, leveraging its global expertise and collaboration with UK and in-country partners.

A Milestone Agreement
