Exeter named as runner-up in prestigious University of the Year award
Exeter has been named as runner-up in the prestigious University of the Year award for the second successive year in the influential The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024, announced today (Friday, September 15th 2023).
The University also saw a rise in the overall rankings, moving up two places to 11th nationally.
Professor Lisa Roberts, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Exeter said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the University of Exeter has secured the runner-up position for a second successive year, as well as another rise in the overall league table position.”

The The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024 is made up of a number of indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects and entrance qualifications held by new students.
Earlier this month, Exeter was also shortlisted for the prestigious University of the Year award in the Times Higher Education Awards 2023. The University was nominated for its world-leading research, teaching and innovation, as well as its commitment to creating a greener, fairer and heathier future for all.
Exeter was also shortlisted for both the Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Leadership, and Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community categories in the awards.
