University of Exeter Business School’s MSc Finance 54th in prestigious world ranking

The University of Exeter Business School’s Masters in Finance has risen to 54thglobally in the Financial Times (FT) Masters in Finance pre-experience 2025 rankings.
The ranking looks at the quality of Masters in Finance programmes offered worldwide, according to a number of criteria including value for money, career progression, student and faculty diversity, and international work mobility, to name a few.
In addition to rising four places globally, the Masters in Finance programme (formally MSc Financial Analysis and Fund Management) ranked 2nd in the UK, and 14th globally, in the ‘career progress’ sub-rank.
The career progress rank is calculated according to changes in the level of seniority and the size of the company/organisation alumni are working for between completion and three years post-graduation.
The Business School programme also ranked 12th in the world in the ‘Carbon footprint’ sub-rank, which is based on net zero targets and the ability of schools to audit their carbon emissions and publicly share this data.
Independent of the ranking calculations, alumni are also asked to evaluate their programme in terms of overall satisfaction. This resulted in a rise to 4th in the UK and 21st globally.
Dr Wei-Ming Lee, Programme Director for MSc Finance said: “I’m delighted that our Masters in Finance programme has been recognised across a range of metrics, from career progress to overall satisfaction. This achievement reflects the dedication of our staff and our ongoing commitment to the student community. We will continue to refine the MSc Finance programme – making it more relevant, practical, and closely aligned with industry needs – to ensure our students thrive in today’s competitive job market.”
