Exeter secures top 20 place in Guardian University Guide 2024

The University of Exeter has been placed amongst the top 20 UK universities in the influential Guardian University Guide 2024.

Exeter was ranked in 18th place in the latest guide, published on Saturday, September 9^th. Universities are ranked according to a number of factors, including teaching excellence, student satisfaction and career prospects.

The influential guide is accompanied by rankings showing how universities perform across the main subject areas, with Exeter enjoying considerable success.

Three subjects were ranked in the top five, a further nine secured places in the top 10, while there were 12 subjects ranked between 11th and 20th.

Earth and Marine Sciences, Mechanical Engineering and Zoology were the highest-ranking subjects in the table, each securing 4^th position.

General Engineering (6th), Biology (7^th), Theology (9th), Criminology (9th), Health Professions (9th), Physics (9^th), Psychology (9th), Sociology (9^th) and Biomedical Science (10^th) complete the top 10 positions.

Politics secured 11^th place, Electrical & Electronic Engineering and Anthropology & Archaeology were 12^th, Classics and Ancient History 13^th, while Drama and History of Art both placed 14^th.

Both Accounting & Finance and Philosophy were placed 15^th, Civil Engineering 16^th, English is ranked 17th, Sports Science 19th, and Business and Management 20^th completed the top 20 positions for the University.

Meanwhile, the University of Exeter also ranked 28^th in the inaugural Daily Mail University Guide, released on Friday, September 8^th.
