Exeter shortlisted for Apprenticeship Provider of the Year
The University of Exeter is a finalist for Apprenticeship Provider of the Year at the Apprenticeship and Training Awards 2026.
The ATA Awards celebrate exceptional training, widening participation and employer partnerships, with this year’s awards seeing 650 nominations across 19 categories.
Exeter has more than 4,000 apprentices enrolled on degree apprenticeship programmes and the largest portfolio of programmes of any Russell Group learning provider, as well as a dedicated Centre for Degree Partnerships where it works with more than 600 employer partners to increase access to Higher Education, address skills gaps and build more diverse workforces.
Rachael Johnstone, Director of the Centre for Degree Partnerships at the University of Exeter, said: “The University of Exeter is the largest university provider of degree apprenticeships in the UK with a diverse and growing portfolio of programmes that provides employers with vital skills and learners with a Russell Group education and a practical environment in which to apply their studies.
“We’re therefore delighted to be nominated for Apprenticeship Provider of the Year, which reflects our commitment to this increasingly important route into work and Higher Education.”
The University will be hoping to follow the success of this year’s ATA Awards, at which it won in the Diversion and Inclusion category as well as being Highly Commended for Sustainability in Training and Apprenticeships.
The finalists are invited to the House of Lords for a reception on 9 February with the Rt Hon. Baroness Morgan, and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony during the Apprenticeships and Training Conference in Liverpool on 3 March.
