Exeter students to attend exclusive Eden Project event for ‘tomorrow’s leaders’

'Emerging leaders': (l-r) Nkechi Udeh, Giang Chu and Sophie Jackson
Three University of Exeter Business School students will attend a special event at the Eden Project this week after being identified as ‘emerging leaders’.
Sophie Jackson, Giang Chu and Nkechi Udeh have received complimentary tickets for the Anthropy national gathering in Cornwall, dubbed the ‘UK’s largest gathering of future-makers’.
The students are part of a group of emerging leaders aged 18-30 invited to provide and share their fresh-thinking, perspectives, and experiences in a series of discussions, workshops, and sessions with established leaders.
They are all studying on scholarships for an MSc in Sustainable Business Management at Exeter’s Penryn campus.
Giang Chu, a Global Excellence Scholar, said in a LinkedIn post: As a sustainability advocate from Vietnam, I’m eager to bring my insights on sustainability policy, ESG, and inclusive sustainable development into the discussions at Anthropy.
“Coming from a rapidly developing economy facing both environmental challenges and opportunities, I hope to offer a unique perspective on balancing sustainability and economic growth. I look forward to connecting, exchanging ideas, and collaborating on solutions for a more resilient and sustainable future.”
Nkechi Udeh described being part of the Emerging Leaders programme as “a fantastic opportunity to drive meaningful change”, adding: “I look forward to collaborating and learning from both emerging and established leaders who share this ambition.”
She also highlighted the significance of participating in the Anthropy event as a young African woman, emphasizing the importance of having young people at the discussion table when tackling global challenges. “As future leaders, our voices and perspectives are crucial in shaping solutions that are inclusive and sustainable,” she said.
Sophie Jackson, a Broad Reach Scholar on the Environment Pathway who hosts the State of the Earth podcast alongside her studies, said: “I am looking forward to returning to Anthropy as an emerging leader, as it’s a fantastic opportunity to engage in discussions about the future of the UK and how best to navigate the challenges of tomorrow.”
Anthropy25 runs from 26-28 March and will see leaders and decision-makers from organisations such as the CBI, EY, Bloomberg, the British Chambers of Commerce come together to discuss their vision for the UK’s future.
Its Emerging Leaders programme is designed to facilitate intergenerational collaboration between today’s leaders and decision-makers, and those of tomorrow – as “neither generation can fix everything alone”.
