The University of Exeter Business School’s flagship Masters in Finance programme placed 58th in the world and 10th in the UK in the latest Financial Times ranking.

The Financial Times (FT) Masters in Finance pre-experience 2026 rankings features the top 70 Masters in Finance programmes offered worldwide, ranked according to criteria including value for money, career progression and international work mobility.

In the ‘career progress’ category, the University of Exeter Business School programme ranked 34th globally and 8th in the UK. The career progress rank is calculated according to changes in the level of seniority, and the size of the company/organisation alumni are working for between completion and three years post-graduation.

Alumni were also asked to evaluate their programme in terms of overall satisfaction, with the resulting score not forming part of the ranking calculation. The Exeter programme’s score of 9.05 was the 8th highest Finance masters in the UK and 26th globally.

Professor Steve Wood, Dean of the University of Exeter Business School, said: “We’re of course delighted for our MSc Finance to be recognised as one of the best programmes both in the UK and the world, and particularly pleased to see that our alumni reflect so positively about their experience of studying here.

“To do so well for ‘careers progress’ is also gratifying as it shows how the programme’s curriculum meets the needs of modern employers. Overall, it’s a fine performance and a testament to the hard work of our academic and professional services staff.”
