The University of Exeter Business School has been recognised for its societal impact and commitment to sustainability as part of the seventh edition of the Positive Impact Rating (PIR).

It is one of the 87 business schools from 32 countries participating in this year’s edition, which saw a record engagement of 19,789 student responses, an 15% increase on the previous year.

Exeter’s Business School achieved Level 4, making it a “transforming” institution within the PIR framework, with a PIR score of 8.0 – up from 7.6 last year.

The PIR is a unique rating created by students for students, and is designed to capture how participants perceive their schools’ positive impact on the world.

Participants evaluated how the University of Exeter Business School addresses societal and sustainability challenges and how well it prepares its students to become responsible leaders.

The University of Exeter Business School, which recently re-launched its MBA programme as the One Planet MBA, signalling its long-held commitment to sustainability, excelled among MBA participants, achieving a score of 9.0.

Professor Steve Wood, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean, said: “The University of Exeter Business School is committed to shaping a better world by embedding our core principles of environmental sustainability, responsible leadership and technological transformation into everything we do.

“Receiving this Positive Impact Rating is a powerful endorsement of that approach and shows that our students recognise our commitment to creating real-world impact while preparing them to be leaders of the future.”
